FH Handmade Australian Clay - Wash House Dunny
The dunny at the bottom of the yard often attracted 'add-ons' like a woodshed, chicken coop, a horse stable and in some cases a wash house. the wash house was were the lady in residence had a boil-up (not the same as a Maori boil-up, which does not taste to bad). By placing dirty cloths in the copper, she lit a fire beneath, and after boiling the cloths, took the cloths to the tub and gave them a good old fashioned scrubbing.
